About Unit Scout
Unit Scout is western draw research for DIY hunters: draw odds and harvest success on one map, for residents and nonresidents, across 15 states. It's built and run in Albuquerque, New Mexico by a hunter who applies in these draws every year and wanted a simpler, cheaper way to decide where to spend points.
Where the data comes from
Every number comes from official state wildlife agency publications: draw results and drawing-odds reports, harvest reports and the current regulations. We cover 2024 and newer. In October 2026 every state was checked against its current regulations for hunt codes, dates, units and tag quotas.
States covered: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
What to keep in mind
Odds describe past draws, and states change rules every year. Use Unit Scout to narrow your choices, then confirm everything with the state before you apply. Unit Scout is not affiliated with any state agency.
